Arcadia in Verse ~ Music by Holly Reed ~ Lyrics from Ben Gunn's poem

The poet walked abroad one day and to Arcadia bent his way
He wandered through the streets so fair observing all the people working there

George Fowler is the merchant king and all the farmers their produce bring
Goodlander is the hardware man. It's a business Walter understands

Above the bank two ladies dwell. They sew and fit the dresses well.
McCoy and Lago will gladly take orders for fine dresses that they make

And Charley Ford sends out John Hatch lawbreakers for to catch
John is the man to get the job done. From danger he will not run.

If you should ever lose your sole, Jim Johnson will make it whole
By giving you one that's good and new, for he mends and fixes boot and shoe

The Powell House by Richard A, boards lodgers by the week or the day
And J.D. Green runs a good hotel. Always treats his patrons very well.

Dave Stevens and Dan King unto your home will gladly bring
Good coal to keep your parlor warm and protect you from the winter storm

And as the poet walked away, he hoped the city would always stay
A lovely place where the people are kind just as the imjage in his mind
